1. Beeri Finance
A former bank mortgage banker, now broking for olim, foreign residents and the self-employed.
Beeri Finance — formerly IREC — is the practice of Be'eri Gurtler Har-Tuv, a mortgage consultant and economist working with buyers in Israel and abroad. He came to broking from the other side of the desk, as a mortgage banker at Mizrahi-Tefahot, and is himself from a family of olim.
The specialisms are the ones that actually bite in Jerusalem: mortgages for Americans and other foreign residents buying in Israel, olim, self-employed borrowers and investors. Those are the four files the banks handle worst unaided, because each breaks the standard income-and-residency template. Knowing how a credit committee will read a file before it is submitted is often the difference between a refusal and a rate — he has lectured to bank mortgage departments on foreign buyers.
Good to know: If you are self-employed or paid from abroad, bring two years of accounts to the first call — that is what decides which banks are realistic.
