1. Bodega — Carlebach Street
Kosher 'bacon cheeseburgers' near Sarona, from the founder of Crave.
Bodega was opened on Carlebach Street, not far from Sarona Market, by the former owner of Jerusalem's Crave — and it brought that restaurant's central idea to Tel Aviv, where certified options are far thinner on the ground.
The signature is the kosher 'bacon cheeseburger', built with beef bacon and a plant-based cheese substitute so that a meat kitchen can serve it legitimately. Alongside it sit crispy pastrami sandwiches, loaded burgers and a craft beer list, in a room that feels like an American diner rather than an Israeli grill.
It keeps unusually useful hours for kosher diners: late on weeknights, a Friday lunch window, and reopening on Saturday night once Shabbat is out.
Good to know: Reopens around 8pm on Motzei Shabbat — one of the better Saturday-night options in the city.
