1. Kirsh Cafe — Dizengoff Street
A proper Tel Aviv dairy cafe on Dizengoff, under Tzohar.
Kirsh sits on Dizengoff and functions as a genuine neighbourhood cafe rather than a kosher alternative to one — which is the highest compliment available in this category, and rarer than it should be.
It is certified by Tzohar, the private Orthodox authority set up in 2017 as an alternative to the Rabbinate's monopoly. Seeing Tzohar on a cafe in the middle of Dizengoff rather than on a flagship restaurant is a good indicator of how far the body has spread into ordinary Tel Aviv life.
Dairy throughout, and central enough to work as a stop between other things rather than a destination in itself.
Good to know: Right on Dizengoff, so easy to fold into a day rather than plan around.
